Katrina Coverage

The AP's "Major Developments in Katrina's Aftermath" includes, among others, these:

French Quarter will reopen, bringing back in 180,000 residents, (the very great majority of whom will NOT degenerate into CHUDs due to the toxic soup and mosquitoes).

…Bush speech…

"The Labor Department reports that the hurricane triggered the biggest one-week surge in jobless claims in nearly a decade." (That's 71,000 initial claims for unemployment) Note that those figures do NOT include Katrina-related claims.

Eastern NO might be dry by the end of September.
