In response to the "Working Class Disappears" post. Having been to New Orleans several times (only the first unarmed) I can tell you that the city's infrastructure were already falling apart. Working class disappear? In a city where one out of four was on welfare, a city that is notorious as not just a party city, but as one of the most dangerous in the nation, what's the problem? The "illegals" as you call them are willing to work, are willing to fight for their slice of an american dream that the previous residents of the city thought was to be given to them. I don't expect nagin to present a balanced or even logical view, his mismanagement and out right lies are coming to the surface, so he knows his days are numbered.
I submit this to you: the working class hasn't left, they are coming in. Under proper leadership (probably saying too much for such a corrupt city) the city can experience a rebirth like no other. Why? Because the parasites that make up at least 25% of the population will be replaced by someone willing to get off their lazy behinds and work.
You want sympathy from me? My family lost quite a bit from the hurricane, all have gotten new jobs and are working, as well as providing a temporary home for extended family and friends who lost EVERYTHING. They're willing to work. The reason so many are focused on this is to say that it's a racial issue. Of course it's going to be, because the NAACP sees exploiting more money out of the government for their "people". In truth, all they are doing is feeding parasites, and further perverting the dreams and sacrifices of the great men who founded them.
Why is it that Bill Cosby is the only person with enough cojones to point the finger and tell people to accept responsibility for their failures as well as their actions, rather than start of every excuse with "Well, if 145 years ago the white man hadn't enslaved me..." \
Sorry, ddn't mean to get off on a rant, but I have seen so much crap on the news, the next time I see one of those reporters walking through what's left of my neighborhood in Biloxi, I'm going to take the use of his legs. All I see is the looped images of people in New Orleans demanding help and handouts, rather than the people here who are only asking for the opportunity to help themselves... It's enough to make you sick.
