"Instant Karma" to be flicked in Louisiana

Louisiana's movie industry is bouncing back with a bang. Thursday, the same Oscar-winning special effects team responsible for the movies "Titanic" and "Apollo 13," announced a new movie to be made in our area: "Instant Karma."
Louisiana's movie tax credits first lured the industry here to shoot movies, but now post-production facilities are popping up to keep more of the movie-making process local, and more of the movie money here.
The announcement for "Instant Karma" came at the American Film Market Thursday in Los Angeles. Baton Rouge Mayor Kip Holden, State Senator Jay Dardenne, and the Capitol Area Economic Development Allies - or "LACAEDA" - were there to spread the word and hopefully attract even more show biz…
"Instant Karma" is set in the swamp, so Louisiana is the perfect place. In the film, a petty thief dies, is reincarnated as an insect, and has to work his way up the ladder by performing good deeds. Every time he does, he comes back as a cockroach, a crawfish, a frog, a raccoon — until he climbs his way back through good karma.
